Solomon Systech’s MagusCoreTM Multimedia Controller SSD1938 Conferred China Chip Award – Best Market Potentials
Solomon Systech Limited (“Solomon Systech”), a leading semiconductor company specializing in the design, development and sales of proprietary display ICs and system solutions, is pleased to announce that its multimedia processor SSD1938 has garnered the “2012 China Chip Award – Best Market Potentials”* organized by the National Software and Integrated Circuit Public Service Platform (CSIP). The award presentation ceremony was held on 22 November 2012 in Guangzhou.
The award-winning multimedia processor SSD1938 is the third generation of the MagusCoreTM family of SoC solutions designed for portable multimedia applications. SSD1938 offers superb performance with 800MHz core processing, full HD decode, high level of integration and ultra-low power consumption to address applications including 3D LCoS projectors, HD pocket-projectors, IP cameras, car surveillance systems, media boxes, mobile internet devices, personal navigation devices, smart medical devices, smartphones, smart remote controls, etc.

SSD1938 has been adopted by the world’s first 3D dual-LCoS mini projector jointly developed by Solomon Systech and the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute. This proprietary mini projector won the Gold Award under the Best Lifestyle (Green, Healthy and Creative Living) category of the prestigious Hong Kong ICT Awards in April this year.
Solomon Systech has received the China Chip Award consecutively for seven years (1996-2012) for its various proprietary products. The China Chip Award is organized by National Software and Integrated Circuit Public Service Platform (CSIP) and supported by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other government departments. It has also received strong support from IC companies, industry experts and manufacturers. The China Chip Award has now become one of the most influential platforms for showcasing IC solutions. The judging panel of the Award comprises 10-15 industry experts from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, IC enterprises, application solution enterprises, related electronic equipment and scientific research institutes etc.
